Welcome to the Imperial Calcasieu Human Resource Management Association (ICHRMA)!

ICHRMA is a non-profit organization designed to serve the needs of Human Resources professionals within the Imperial Calcasieu area.  Our membership of approximately 170 members is made up of over 90 organizations in the fields of manufacturing, law, healthcare, banking, communications, local government, staffing agencies, and many more.  

ICHRMA is an affiliate of Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM), the world’s largest association devoted to the Human Resource profession. 

Local chapter membership, in conjunction with national SHRM membership, provides well-rounded HR professionals, office managers and small business owners with extensive networking, programming and learning opportunities.

ICHRMA hosts monthly meetings to educate our members on current HR concerns. We host an annual full day HR conference as well as an annual half day generalist workshop. Industry leaders and HR professionals share their knowledge and proven practices with members and the community.  ICHRMA also sponsors two social events annually, one in the summer and one at Christmas time. 

ICHRMA works closely with McNeese State University’s SHRM student chapter.  ICHRMA fosters future Human Resources Professionals by awarding a scholarship to a deserving student each semester. We also partner with SOWELA Technical Community College to teach an extensive HR course that can prepare participants for HRCI certification.

To better serve our membership we award a scholarship to a son or daughter of an active member each semester. In addition, we annually honor a “Professional of the Year” who has shown leadership and dedication to the organization’s “Model of Professional Excellence”.
